Asparagus contains many nutrients that are vital to overall wellbeing and health. It is very rich in folic acid, vitamin A, vitamin B, Vitamin C, Copper, Flouride, Manganese, Potassium, Asparagine, Rutin, Fiber.
It is great for arteriosclerosis, high blood pressure, hyperlipidaemia and for constipation.
Asparagus is good for intestinal health due to its high fiber content. It is low in calories and acts as a diuretic. It stops bacterial activity in the intestines. According to the National Cancer Institute, asparagus has many anti cancer properties such as Glutathione, which research has shown is the body’s most potent anti-carcinogens and antioxidants. Asparagus should be avoided if you have any complications that involve inflammation such as cystitis, rheumatism and gout.
