Improve Your Performance with Organic Beetroot Juice

Organic Beetroot Juice Proven to be a Natural Performance Enhancer!

This is an amazing finding and should help many who are looking to improve their performance naturally. There is evidence found in research which was published in the Journal of Applied Physiology that shows that the nitrate in beetroot juice leads to a reduction in oxygen uptake, slowing the rate at which a person becomes exhausted. Drinking beetroot juice has shown to extend exercise time for at least 16 percent longer.

Researchers say that the reduction in oxygen use was greater than that achieved by using any other known means, including training. The findings could be valuable information to athletes, elderly people or those who have complications with cardiovascular, respiratory or metabolic diseases.

The research was conducted by a team at the University of Exeter, in England. The study was conducted with eight men from the ages of 19 to 38. Each were given 500 millilitres of organic beetroot juice a day for six consecutive days before completing a series of tests that involved cycling on a stationary bike. On other occasions they were given a placebo of black current cordial for six consecutive days before completing the same cycling tests.

The study found that after drinking organic beetroot juice, the group was able to cycle for an average of 11 minutes, 25 seconds. That is 92 seconds longer than when using the placebo. Another interesting finding was the group that consumed the organic beetroot juice also had a lower resting blood pressure.

WHICH APPLES YOU SHOULD BE JUICING

WHICH APPLES YOU SHOULD BE JUICING....

Granny Smith

  •  The Granny Smith green apple is a tip-bearing apple cultivar, which originated in Australia in 1868. It is named after Maria Ann Smith, who propagated the cultivar from a chance seedling. The tree is thought to be a hybrid of Malus sylvestris, the European Wild Apple, with the domestic apple M. domestica as the polleniser. The fruit has hard, light green skin and a crisp, juicy flesh.
Granny Smiths go from being yellow to turning completely green. The acidity mellows significantly, and it then takes on a balanced flavour. (from Wikipedia)
Granny Smith apples also have the least amount of sugar of all the apples. This is the apple I use the most as I like the tartness especially when juiced with a lime.

5 Recipes and 5 Tips for Using a Juicer

5 Recipes and 5 Tips for Using a Juicer

8/8/2014 10:47:00 AM

I have been bitten by the “juicing bug.”  I bought a juicer less than 12 hours after I finished watching the documentary “Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead,” which is highly recommended to anyone looking to be inspired about health and natural foods.  After a honeymoon where I juiced anything and everything, I have found out a few recipes that really work for my tastes and budget that I have shared in picture form below.  I also wanted to share a few pearls with those who are new, or may be thinking of entering, the juicing game.
juice
1) Experiment, experiment, experiment.  There are plenty of sites that will provide recipes and accompanying shopping lists to have a certain kind of juicing experience.  While following “the book” is ok at the start, accounting for personal taste and seasonal availability (and price) is not taken into account.  Try a little of this, a little of that, combinations that seem like they would not complement each other.  Remember (possibly write down) what worked and what didn’t.  Don’t worry too much if something doesn’t work because…….
2) If a taste is not appealing, diluting the juice is an easy way to kill a lot of the taste and still get all the nutrients extracted.
3) Sticking with the gross theme, don’t juice a parsnip.  It’s the one time I could not finish what I juiced.  I hope this saves at least one person from making the same mistake.
4) Green apples save the day.  When they are in season, I stock up, because I have learned, that no matter how funky the combo, if a green apple or two are in the mix, the taste will be manageable.  Remember, juicing a lot of fruit leads to high concentrations of natural sugars, so save the sweet stuff as sort of an ace up the sleeve.
5) Try the juice before shutting off or taking apart the juicer.  You’ll know before it’s too late whether that green apple or an extra carrot is needed, because, yes, putting everything back together while the new juice sits idly is sometimes more than I can handle.
So without further ado, here are the recipes:

11 Ways You Can Use Apple Cider Vinegar
Everyone should have a bottle of raw, organic, unfiltered and unpasteurized apple cider vinegar (aka ACV) in their home! It’s a multiuse vinegar for both internal and external personal use ... and it’s great for a couple of household chores.
ACV is made from apple juice and is fermented to hard apple cider. It's then fermented a second time to become apple cider vinegar. It should be made from organic apples and be unheated, unfiltered and unpasteurized to keep the "mother" intact.
The "mother" in apple cider vinegar is visible as cloudy strings in the bottom of the bottle, and is full of beneficial enzymes, pectin, and trace minerals. It’s worth shaking the bottle each time before using ACV to distribute these elements.
Learn how to naturally take care of your body (and home!) with this simple, inexpensive, and safe product.

Dr. Oz's Green Drink

Here's the hard to find recipe! Dr. Oz says he drinks this every morning, and so does Oprah. After Oprah tried this on the show, she was surprised how good it tasted, calling it a "glass of fresh!"
If you're here and you're new to juicing, you may find that this tastes a bit "earthy" because your taste buds may not be used to this whole thing. If that's the case, just add an extra apple or two to sweeten it up.
You can blend this recipe too, but I imagine you'll want to peel the lemon, lime, and ginger.

Ingredients

  • Apples - 2 medium (3" dia) 364g
  • Celery - 3 stalk, large (11"-12" long) 192g
  • Cucumber - 1 cucumber (8-1/4") 301g
  • Ginger Root - 1/2 thumb (1" dia) 12g
  • Lemon (with rind) - 1/2 fruit (2-3/8" dia) 42g
  • Lime (with rind) - 1 fruit (2" dia) 67g
  • Parsley - 1 bunch 150g
  • Spinach - 2 cup 60g

The Easy Way To Start Juicing

The Easy Way To Start Juicing

If you’re looking to lose weight or just get healthy, juicing can be a great option to improve your diet and get plenty of nutrients without too many calories. Read on for some easy tips on how to stick to your diet, make juice taste better and many other things.
If you are planning on juicing citrus fruits only, or primarily citrus fruits, consider purchasing a juicer that is designed just for citrus. Many juicers have trouble with the amount of pith in a citrus fruit. In addition, juicers with metal surfaces will become corroded over time after repeated exposure to citrus fruits.

5 Foods You Should Be Juicing

5 Foods You Should Be Juicing

A glass of beet juice
When you think of juicing, a glass of something deep green and not very appetizing probably comes to mind. However, the best raw juice blends, as well as smoothie ingredients, actually incorporate different types of fruits and vegetables, not only for the nutritional benefits, but for some surprisingly great flavor.
Here are just a few of the types of foods that nutritionists say you should consider adding to your  juice or smoothie:
Frozen Fruit
You may already know what a great ingredient frozen fruits can be for smoothies, but you can juice them as well. Experts recommend that you choose frozen fruits with no added sugar.
Swiss Chard
A great glass of juice, or a smoothie, is all about balance. This means that it shouldn’t be all fruit, nor should basically be a glass of straight broccoli juice (umm, unless you really like that sort of thing).  Greens like kale and spinach always make great options, but have you tried Swiss chard? This green has a mildly sweet flavor, contains lots of antioxidants, and has been shown to help protect against heart disease and help lower your blood pressure and cholesterol.

THIS JUICER IS WORTH EVERY PENNY

My favourite juicer is the Super Angel juicer for overall quality for the price. I still love my Norwalk juicer however the Norwalk is just over $3,000.00 and the Super Angel is sold around the $1,200.00 price range. A great juicer with a great yield of juice and quality stainless steel construction and extremely easy to clean. I do not receive these juicers for free, I purchase them myself and test them thoroughly. This juicer impressed me so much that I gave it to my brother to get him into juicing. I still have my Norwalk and you would have a hard time getting me to part with it but the Super Angel is awesome!

Juicer Review - HUROM HU-100

Our Overall
   Rating 7

I received the Hurom juicer and was anxious to see how this juicer compares to other juicers I reviewed last year.  The Hurom HU-100 is an auger based masticating juicer that cold presses vegetables, greens and fruits producing a higher yield of juice. The juice produced with this Hurom HU-100 had a subtle amount of froth in the juice and a slightly some foam. The juice's did not separate quickly when left in a sealed mason jar in the refrigerated. It did not last as long as the juice from the Norwalk juicer, but at 10% of the price of the Norwalk it was impressive.

After using this juicer for some time now, I found that periodically not all of the vegetable gets fully juiced as a small portion remains in the juicer around the auger. This could have me lowering the rating but at this point I will keep it where it is rated.

The Hurom HU-100 is very easy to clean and makes very little noise. It would be great if this juicer was made of stainless steel however,  priced around the $300.00 USD and in Canada around $329.00 making it an amazing value. The motor is warranted for ten (10) years and other parts are warranted for two (2) years from the date of the original purchase.
